About Us

rhett picture

Rhett Russell, founder of NHS with Pilot at 18 months old.... a Dutch Warmblood gelding who got a good start on life.

This web site opened on July 20, 1999 to provide high quality tools for the natural horseman at a reasonable price.  I make all of the products that I offer and search extensively for "industrial strength" core product and materials that meet a high standard of quality.

I began working for Rhett shortly after the website took off as co-fabricator of product when keeping up with demand became a problem for him. Rhett is still a major factor in the function and quality of NHS today.

Rob and Jamie Hanny took over ownership of NHS sometime around 2004 while Rhett went into pursuit of new challenges. In their own pursuit of new ventures, they sold the business to me in 2008.

I look forward to the continuing growth of NHS and a chance to work one on one with new and old customers alike.

I vow to maintain the low pricing and quality workmanship that has been the hallmark of NHS since 1999.
